Chronology
Benoît finds himself in debt and has to ask his wealthy parents for help once again. His plan to make money: make them believe he’s marrying his model friend Emily. When Emily cancels on the way to the airport, Benoît decides to invite Fiona, his loudmouth Uber driver, instead.
It’s just for the eye candy
This movie was extremely simple and vulgar, which made it seem like an American comedy. I can see an American remake in its future. It was quite refreshing for a French comedy, even if it’s not my favorite genre.
Not this one
French comedies usually start off funny and suddenly get very serious before the end. There’s no hidden side to anyone — Benoît is clumsy and cowardly from start to finish. His siblings are greedy and downright mean.
The fake fiancée has no social graces from start to finish
Only the parents are the same standard rich and confused couple that you see in most French comedies. It was the least interesting because their plot is totally predictable in this kind of film. I am glad I have an unlimited cinema pass because the ticket prices have become so high at the cinema that I would have been unhappy to spend a lot of money on it.
Its future will be that of the standard Sunday night movie on French television
