Perry was so impressed that he even helped develop the remix
Chronology
In 1980s Indiana, a group of young friends witness supernatural forces and secret government exploits. As they search for answers, the kids uncover a series of extraordinary mysteries. Steve Perry, former lead singer of Journey, has said that the Stranger Things season 4 remix of Journey’s 1980s hit “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)” was done pretty much the way he originally wanted it to be in the 1980s, but it lacked the technology. In several episodes, people are seen “interrupting” someone who is talking on a two-way or CB radio – that is, one person is talking/transmitting, and another person transmits to interrupt, and then the other person hears the interruption and stops transmitting. This has been done several times on the kids’ CB radios and on radios used by the police. These radios – the CB and police radios from the show’s era – don’t work like that.
Eleven: Friends don’t lie
If you’re transmitting and someone else is transmitting, you won’t hear them. The opening titles and fonts of Stranger Things mimic the film grain and look of the opening credits of 1980s TV shows. Featured in FoundFlix: Stranger Things (2016) Ending Explanation + Season 2 Clues (2016). Stranger Things (title sequence and end credits theme) Written and performed by Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein. With its incredible 80s atmosphere and X-files and E.T. creepiness, this show is destined to impress.
The production values are also quite good with some nice cinematography, editing, lighting and sound
Within the first 8 minutes of its runtime, I could tell that I had found something special here in Stranger Things. Its intriguing story delivers information at a steady pace and I never felt confused or bored and there were enough twists and turns to keep me interested. This series also had some really good horror sequences and their use of flashing lights, while yes, a common trope fit into the story so well that I was on the edge of my seat every time the crackle of electricity came through my speakers and the lights flickered. The characters in the series are the real stars here, I loved each and every one of them. They were all great with incredibly interesting flaws and the way they blended and clashed with each other was fun to watch unfold. They definitely help carry this series, although I would say that the show’s government antagonists felt a bit flat and underdeveloped and not as memorable.
My goodness I loved their music choices
I will say that the CGI seems a little obvious and every now and then I noticed a few issues where scenes weren’t quite up to par. I think I’ve been spoiled in terms of visual quality since Game of Thrones though, so I ‘ll take this criticism with a grain of salt as it certainly didn’t detract from the overall experience. The setting and style of each scene was also very pleasing to the eye and felt real and interesting. The way everything was filmed also expertly captures each moment and really helps to bring out those moments in the story with more emotion. Stranger Things is one of those special series that I stumbled upon and after the opening, I knew I was hooked. Its dark and thrilling story is expertly woven throughout its 8 episodes and I know I’ll be back to watch this one again.
Memorable, exciting, dark, and haunting, Netflix knocks Stranger Things out of the park, 10/10
The ending is pretty well-tied with a few dangling story threads, with the promise of potential follow-up seasons, but the story is pretty well-tied up by the end. Whether they’re exploring the stars, escaping dystopias, or making the world a better place, these women are what science fiction is all about.
